The Return To Ithaca

My final Senior Year project was to illustrate scenes from a fictional game I thought up based off of the Odyssey. The Game was a retelling of the Odyssey, only in Space. Instead of Triremes, the Greeks travelled across space in similarly shaped spaceships. The game would start as a RTS, move to a RPG, and end up finally as a Shooter, as the greek fleet shrunk from a bunch of ships, to Odysseus's ship, to Odysseus alone.

The Return
Many many years later, after being trapped on the water world of Calypso for seven years, Odysseus finally returns to his home planet of Ithaca, with only a few of his fellow crew mates remaining. After reclaiming his household he announces his return to the rest of the world, and is received with honors, the man who lead the Trojan horse to the decisive victory over the Trojans.

This was my last piece that I did in college. Oh, the memories Here we see Odysseus's ship docked and a large welcoming crowd as he walks down the pathway from the ship.

Some other fun bits from the idea:
HermesComm - A small, but incredibly influential company, who most notably owns the patent on the machine that allows for instantaneous communication. Incredibly secretive and protective of their technology, they are extremely discreet and extremely neutral, acting as a sort of messenger for those who have the money to pay for such communications. Mostly only the higher ups in larger corporations are able to pay for the services.

Athena Interstellar - A large security contracting and military vessel production company, who primarily help in financing and developing war and attack fleets. Major competitor of Apollo Industries. The Ithacans went to Athena, as Troy had been backed by Apollo Industries, and refused to do business. Athena Interstellar and the Ithacans signed a 2 century contract, and the Ithacans are subsequently "backed" and "supported" by Athena Interstellar.

Apollo Industries - A large security and defense contracting company, responsible for the Trojan defenses, as well as several other unmentioned planets. Major competitor of Athena Interstellar.
